Hello, Libson.

A new day, a new city, a new country.

After a long night train, I woke up in Lisbon, Portugal. What a wonderful feeling!

Libson was unlike any place I have ever seen. It was just breathtaking. The city is known for its 7 hills, cork, and tiles. The buildings were colorful, tiled and gorgeous.

After the night train, the first day in Lisbon was spent as many of the other first days, just exploring and getting a feel for the city. It started with working on papers in a cute coffee shop just down the road from the train station. Followed by lunch. I am not sure what I ordered which became a trend in Lisbon because there were not many pictures on the menu and not many have any English on them. So it was mostly a point and find out what came out. To be honest, I enjoyed this more then I thought I would. It was an adventure every time I ordered and the uncertainty of what would come made it very fun. Anywho, the food was always amazing and this first lunch was no different. After that, it was just an afternoon of walking around the city seeing what could be seen. During this time was a shot of Ginjinha. Which is a liquor Portuguese liquor made from sour cherries. Then meant to be siped and enjoyed. It was actually a lot better than I had anticipated it to be. It can be served in either a normal shot glass or chocolate shot glasses to be eaten after drinking the drink.

After the wondering for the majority of the afternoon, it was dinner time at an off the beaten path very authentic Portuguese restaurant. I ordered again not knowing what would show up- it was an entire fish and was so good.  All in all a wonderful first day in Lisbon.

Day two started with nadas which are a type of custard cup that are a must try if you are in Portugal. Following that a casual morning drink of Ginjinha from the Rossio Spring Market before a walking tour. It was just as good as the Madrid walking tour. Seeing many things along the way including- Martim Moniz Square, many different small neighborhoods, and a beautiful view of the city, Praça do Comérico, Rossio Square, São Nicolau, and so much more. Again, learning so much about the city during the tour. Lunch was next on the agenda finding a little hole in the wall restaurant, it has a great vibe and better food. Then dinner was just as amazing and another local hole in the wall. It was a great day spent in Lisbon. Just a lot of walking around and experiencing the city.

The next day was spent eating a quick breakfast, then heading to the airport to continue this amazing adventure.

Lisbon was an awesome place. There was a ton of tourist and a very busy vibe. It had a lot of offer. The food was out of this world and the buildings were too. It was a great experience and I would gladly go back and visit Portugal again.

Cheers!
